And here is the shawl, on vacation in the Northeast Kingdom.

Finally a Finished Object!

I finally finished blocking my Goddess Knits Anniversary Mystery Shawl Monday, and managed to get photos taken. It’s done. I used three full skeins of Malabrigo laceweight for a total of 1410 yards for this project. It’s a nice shawl, and I learned to add beads on it, so that was fun. They are clear glass beads, so you won’t see them in the photos. In fact, I might not be able to post the actual photos for a few more days, so my official FO post will arrive then. The last beads and stitches were placed as I watched rehearsal for the Bread and Puppet Circus–that was a kind of vacation, but I didn’t have the camera with me.

I’ve decided to put the Mystery Shawl #9 on hold, at about 700 yards, as I finish up a pair of socks for the Ravelympics, catch up on the BadCatDesigns summer sampler, and work on the cardigan to go with the skirt, which I finished today. It’s blocking right now. I’m thinking three finished objects this week–surprising myself again.

My high speed internet provider is not providing high speed internet these days, so I can’t upload photos to Flickr. My husband can’t even e-mail them to me, the connection is so slow. It is very frustrating, but I hope it will be fixed before this season of lace is over.

Another 500 yards

Hi all, this is just an update on my several projects. No photo of the summer sampler, but it looks just like the one pictured below, so that’ll have to do. This is my skirt, almost halfway done. I’ve finished the increases and the pattern transition–not complicated, but requiring attention. Now I can knit this while doing pretty much anything. It’s fast.

Here is the MS9, center and side panels. I do like the yarn and the color, but I can’t imagine who I know that would use it. I’m not sure what to do. For now I’m just enjoying making it. Oh and my husband wants credit for helping to make the pattern visible.

And here, in an unfortunate photo, is the Anniversary Mystery Shawl, on which I have just passed 500 yards. Whoopee! I have a ways to go before this one is done, but I’m working at least two rounds a day, and am a quarter of the way through the fourth chart, which is 96 rows. Then just the edging and  you know the rest. My son insisted that I include his beautiful work in the photo, so you get a double treat!

This week I have been able to find extra knitting time thanks (or no thanks) to a mild bout of flu in the house and then a long power outage, which kept me from my gainful employment. So I’m caught up on two out of three KALs and feeling hopeful about producing a finished object before the end of September.
