Seasons of Lace

And another of Anne Hanson’s scarves is knit.  I guess everyone loves her patterns!  This was knit during evacuation time, kind of ironic that it’s Gust!

Started going through & entering my stash in Ravelry (don’t even ask…it’s scary, really scary…I think they’ll have to bury me with yarn & needles…) and I couldn’t resist starting this to see what the SWS would do with it.

I’ve also knit up another quickie on Size 13s with a very simple lace pattern, an oddly shaped item that when finished, turns into a shrug! Haven’t photo-ed that yet though. I so love the feel of Moda-Dea Dream (a friend who commented on it this past weekend called it “sensuous” and I have to agree!), I can almost forget the fact that it’s acrylic & nylon!

More than 500 stitches per round now, soooo slooooow, and it doesn’t help that I’ve decided to get creative and not completely follow the given pattern, so each pattern row I sit and stare and think & look through books and and and…

But I HAD to check out the diameter, so put it on 5 circulars & it’s up to 34″ unstretched!

This is just a tiny fo.  It was to make me feel better about having to frog 1/2 of my 2/3 completed sea breeze scarf — I hadn’t noticed a dropped stitch, and couldn’t pick it up in pattern, it was a mess.  But my japanese feather should be done in a couple of days!  I may go back to Ene’s scarf, or it may remain a sleeping beauty.

Anyway, here’s the little headband, it’s vine lace, though that’s hard to see in the photo.  I haven’t blocked it yet…

It’s 8 inches long and full of mistakes…

But I WILL finish it.  Hopefully in time to give it as a Christmas present. 

Let me see, 8 inches of 60 inches total equals 13.3333 percent.

I’ve been desperately trying to finish projects for deadlines so I haven’t been able to concentrate on my lace project (Trellis Scarf). Consequently, I’m only 16 rows into the border design. At this rate, I’ll never finish by September! But I’m happy with how my project looks thus far, and I love this yarn! I’m using Malabrigo Lace in Shocking Pink and it’s so, so, so pretty! Here’s a picture:

So far I like it!

Okay, I’m revved up and ready to knit for a Season of Lace.  I wanted to be fair and start and a logical place in my knitting.  I’m currently working on the Slow Bee I lace shawl (I guess I’m slower than a Slow Bee though).  Anyway, I had 4 lines to go to finish Clue I and I thought it was only fair that I finish those lines before I throw my hat in the ring for this fun!  Here’s a picture of my shawl thus far. 

I’m also doing the Mystic Light shawl, but it seems I haven’t worked on this one since I picked up the Slow Bee I bug.  But here’s the starting place for that one.

I think that’s it for now, but you never know with my disorganization!

I was feeling so good about my progress and took my knitting with me today and got a total of one round knit on the Anniversary Shawl after messing around in between conversations and distraction. On top of it all, I have to go back to work tonight. I had such hopes for daytime knitting this week!

I just heard about this today and decided to join. I hope I’m not to late as it sounds like a lot of fun and a way to encourage me to finish projects this summer.

Right now I’m on row 134 of Vkandis Sunlord a circular shawl by MMario, in bright orange 6/2 weaver’s cotton with opaque rainbow seed beads, size 6/2 in red. I need to get some pictures of it, since I started the beading. I have the yarn for the Slow-bee Mystery KAL and Mystic Waters, just trying to decide which one to cast on. I also have the Secret of Chrysopolis and a seed stitch scarf on the needles.
