My Newbie Lace Knitter prize arrived this week! It’s the DVD “Knitting Lace with Meg Swansen”. I haven’t had time to watch it yet, but I did look at the charts. I really like the neck-scarf version of a Faroese shawl, and I think that will probably be my first project from the DVD.

Here’s a shot of the yarn I won from A Piece of Vermont. It’s Sugar Hill 2-ply laceweight wool, 3.5 ounces, 660 yards, in the colorway Hearthside, which of course had to be photographed on the Vermont wood pile. It has a rich range of deep reds.
