learning the photo game

Well, I figured out how to get photos onto Flickr, so they are available, but I can’t seem to get them to hook up to this site, even though I’m following the directions as carefully as I can. Any ideas?

I did cast on a warm-up project today, and am about to wind another ball of yarn . . . → Read More: learning the photo game Read more »

Wow, what a find!

I’m so glad to have found this group (thanks to knitflea)… I have a relatively small list of lace projects for this newbie lace knitter to work on this summer and this group will really keep me challenged to work away at them!  First up is finishing the Hemlock ring blanket for my mom’s birthday gift . . . → Read More: Wow, what a find! Warm-up Nupping

I’m working on my warm-up knitting–I thought I’d be further along, but the heat wave the Northeast experienced last week? totally killed my desire to touch anything wooly. I haven’t figured out how to add photos here yet, so I’ve posted pictures to the Flickr group, as well as on my own blog.

Look Ma, More Needle Bling

Ya know how I caved when looking at donors’ pages?

I did it again.

This time I did it before the donor even got her etsy page up.  I’m not even sure that she has it up yet!  But I’ve got stitch markers…..

My favorite bit was that I got to order 25 of them.  . . . → Read More: Look Ma, More Needle Bling Read more »

Hi Everyone!

I’m looking forward to participating in this group this summer.  I will be having a summer of lace and socks (SOS8).  I have so many patterns that I want to make and am having a hard time deciding on which to do first.  I’m currently working on Nancy Bush’s “A Stork’s Nest Scarf to Knit” from . . . → Read More: Hi Everyone! Hiya all! I´ve been knitting my first Niebling as a warm-up.

My first introduction to lace was participating in mystery stole 3. Ok, I had knitted the Kiri-Shawl prior to that but that was a piece of cake. After those I´ve been studying different designs and fell in love with Niebling designs and this is my . . . → Read More: introduction Read more »

Bling for my needles.

I got new bling today…..

I got some yummy new stitch markers, courtesy of Crimson Orchid .  I blame this purchase on you guys. I’d been able to resist buying stitch markers, even when my buddy Elizabeth taunted me with new ones that she was ordering…. at least until I started prowling around hunting up prizes . . . → Read More: Bling for my needles. What I’ve been up to, lace-wise

I’ve started the Wakame Lace Tunic from the latest Interweave Knits, using Claudia Linen Lace (Copper Pennies) and 3.5mm needles. Loving it.

And I may now talk about & show pictures of the scarf I knit from alpaca/silk handspun for an exchange organized by a friend of mine. You can see more at my projects page on . . . → Read More: What I’ve been up to, lace-wise Read more »

UFO’s as Warm-Ups

Hello! I’ve been absorbed by the enthusiasm of the new lace knitters, and as a skilled(hmph!) lace knitter I can only say: Brava!!!! to all ya’ll. You are encouraging me to get my butt in gear and get going.

My warm-up consists of finishing several pieces that have been languishing in the basket or on the coffee . . . → Read More: UFO’s as Warm-Ups Read more »
