I was a winner in one of the Random Joy raffle drawings.  My prize was to select two patterns from Melanie at Pink Lemon Twist.Â
I’ve been eyeing a few of her patterns since I began (and have yet to finish!) my Swan Lake stole (Mystery Stole 2).
I chose Leda’s Dream (the Original Mystery Stole) and Scheherazade (Mystery Stole 2).
I love all of Melanie’s work and had a hard time deciding!Â
Thank you!

Here are pics of my cardigan almost halfway. The yarn is Blue Heron Egyptian Mercerized Cotton, 2-ply laceweight, colorway Carnelian. I finally figured out how I can play with my photos, and have managed to give a sense of the real color of the yarn in the top, detail photo. The lower photo shows the effect of the flash–it hides the blue tones, making the whole thing seem orangey. Well there is a lot of orange in the yarn, but it’s quite subtle. This is a fun knit, coinciding with my second mandala shawl. I’m hoping to finish both before the winter of lace comes along, so I can make a fresh start!

Here’s a shot of the yarn I won from A Piece of Vermont. It’s Sugar Hill 2-ply laceweight wool, 3.5 ounces, 660 yards, in the colorway Hearthside, which of course had to be photographed on the Vermont wood pile. It has a rich range of deep reds. It’s really lovely, and I’m so grateful! This shop has some really luscious hand dyed spinning fiber as well. Worth looking into!
I chose the pattern for the Arrowhead Moebius Shrug from FiberDancer Studios:

I’ve been wanting to learn this cast-on, and this will be a great way to try it out. The other pattern I have that uses it calls for very fine yarn, and I’m not sure I’m up to learning the technique with laceweight. Thanks ShadowDancer!

Today I received this adorable skein of yarn from Donna at Spinning daydreams. It came in this cute little box. There was also a spinners cupcake with nine yards of yarn to play with. Thanks again.

She’ll be choosing her favorite of the newly dyed lace-weight yarn from

I’m not sure if anyone is checking this blog anymore, but I thought I would post a picture of my finished shawl. It came out about 25×80 and used about 2 2/3 balls of Knit Picks Gloss in Celery. So nice to get this done.

Looks like we have some extra patterns to give away.
What a shame.
Whatever will I do?
I guess, I’ll just have to fire up that Random Number Generator for a bit of Random Joy!
Today, we’ve got three prizes from Melanie (PinkLemon ) of
Pink Lemon Twist . She’s generously decided to give three lucky people two patterns from her collection!
The Random Number Generator says that those three people are:

Congratulations all! I’ve told Melanie who you are… and she should be emailing you soon to learn which patterns you chose. Please post and tell us what you chose too!

I am so excited to win the most consistent blogger award. Not having a blog of my own I see now how difficult it is to try and blog every day, especially when you are limited to one subject! One of the reasons I had so many projects was just to have something to blog about.
I don’t know if this is where I am supposed to officially do it, but after much back and forth and consultation with others, I would love to have the copper pin on the bottom. They are both so beautiful it was a tough decision.
Thanks to everyone who participated, it was a great summer!
