Black Olives

This stole reminded me of black olives while I was designing it so that is what I ended up calling it.  It starts with a provisional cast on.  Once the main knitting is done the lace edging is knit sideways on the working end, then unzip the provisional cast on and knit the border on the . . . → Read More: Black Olives Read more »

Pictures at last–the skirt

I’m very pleased with my skirt. It has a lovely drape and feel, and it goes well over at least two of my options. The skirt that looks white is actually pale pink, and the contrast is not so shocking in reality–the flash over does it a bit, so I made sure to take a photo . . . → Read More: Pictures at last–the skirt Read more »

Finally a Finished Object!

I finally finished blocking my Goddess Knits Anniversary Mystery Shawl Monday, and managed to get photos taken. It’s done. I used three full skeins of Malabrigo laceweight for a total of 1410 yards for this project. It’s a nice shawl, and I learned to add beads on it, so that was fun. They are clear . . . → Read More: Finally a Finished Object! Read more »

I have nothing to say, so look at the pretty pictures instead

Well, a week of being sick has surprisingly resulted in much knitting.  Mostly mindless.  Since I have nothing interesting to say, I give you pictures instead.  That would be my original pattern shawl, and yes, I know the lace is lost in the color.  I’m almost done with the second ball of Silky Malabrigo, with 2-3 . . . → Read More: I have nothing to say, so look at the pretty pictures instead Read more »

another post, another cast-on

If I count correctly (which isn’t guaranteed), this is the fifth project I’ve started since June 21st, and I haven’t finished one yet.  For me, it’s been more “Seasons of Startitis” rather than “Seasons of Lace”.  In my defense: this is my Ravelympics project. (OK, yes, I could have opted for WIP Wrestling, but that would . . . → Read More: another post, another cast-on Read more »

I should show some photos

Hello,

I think, I should show some photos of my lace projects.

From July 1 until July  8 I knitted this scarf. It’s my own version of feather and fan. I needed 360 yards for it.

From July 14  to 17 I knitted this bookmark. It’s my own pattern. You’ll find it on my homepage. I needed 27 of . . . → Read More: I should show some photos Read more »

One FO, One not so finished.

I finished off my “I hate to swatch scarf”.  I ended  up using about 250 yds of lace weight and 1300 size 6/0 beads.  (I can’t believe I used that many beads!!)  It ended up being 8 inches X 66 inches.  I’m probably going to work on the little loops that I put on each end.  . . . → Read More: One FO, One not so finished. Progress (into insanity!!)

I got my yarn in for my Lyra!!  It’s yummy!!  I got 2500 yards of silk/wool from Josyln’s Fiber Farm in a Teal/Light Turquiose color.  I decided that I really needed to swatch to make sure my 3′s were going to give me the fabric I wanted.  One thing about me…… I hate to swatch!!  So . . . → Read More: Progress (into insanity!!) Another 500 yards

Hi all, this is just an update on my several projects. No photo of the summer sampler, but it looks just like the one pictured below, so that’ll have to do. This is my skirt, almost halfway done. I’ve finished the increases and the pattern transition–not complicated, but requiring attention. Now I can knit this while . . . → Read More: Another 500 yards Read more »
