Stop…. and face the finish line

I finished the first of the Lacy Mitts for I’m designing for my daughter.

I also have the pattern all written out for the left mitt, and have worked out just what needs to be done to reverse it for the right mitt.  (I’ve also made great progress in a non-lace design and some simple socks for DH.

But that stops now.  All this progress will come to a screeching halt.

Because this came in the mail today.

At last, Daedelus can be finished!!  THANK YOU Aboca Beads .

Well, I finally finished my latest pair of socks. These seemed to take a long time due to all the end of summer stuff we had going on. The pattern is  At the Catch Socks by Helen Waittes  and the yarn is from Mackintosh Yarns.

More socks

I just can’t get away from the socks!  Mom saw the one I’m doing for me… and asked for some, so I put mine aside to knit hers while she is visiting.  She is diabetic and a dialysis patient so I want to make sure they fit her well.

I’m using the Ridged Feather pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks and On Line Supersocke Cotton Beach Color.  I’m quite pleased with how they are coming out.  They are going quickly, too they are about twice this length now…

My knitting needles were smoking hot this weekend! Here are my new Monkey Socks, made with Copper Pot from Spindle City Yarns. I am very pleased with the way they turned out. They fit beautifully.

A little lace

This is what I’m up to now… These are the Lacy Mock Cable socks.  I started these back in the summer of 2007.   The yarn (Fleece Artist Merino) was given to me by a knitting friend and she was going to China to pick up her adorable adopted baby girl… So, I thought I’d knit some socks with the yarn and pray for her while I was knitting and she was gone.  As fate would have it, I pinched a nerve in my shoulder and couldn’t knit for a while, and these went in the UFO pile…

Unfinished sock

That picture was yesterday.  What a sad state for an unfinished sock to be lacking only a toe (and a mate) for a whole year!  So, I’m trying to make it up to the poor sock… this is the same sock eariler today…

Finished sock

I switched up the  heal that the pattern calls for and knit an eye of partridge heal instead.  Good thing I took good notes.

I cast on last night for another pair of socks. The pattern is  At the Catch Socks by Helen Waittes  and the yarn is from Mackintosh Yarns. I finished the leg of sock #1 today. It is nice to be working on lace again, I took a break to knit socks for my son and husband–neither of whom wanted lace! :D

Monkey Socks

I started these socks last May, getting about one inch done, when many other projects took priority to them. So, I am back to finishing them and am loving how they are knitting up. The yarn is a superwash sock yarn from Spindle City Yarns in the Copper Pot colorway.

A mere interlude

After devoting the entire month working on my Goddes Knits I had the most nagging desire to finish something, immediately. So I frogged my cowl and use the yarn for this :

Jewel Slouch

Pattern : Gwen Slouch

Yarn : Colinette Jitterbug colorway Jewel

Cast On : Aug 16, 2008

Cast Off : Aug 17, 2008

It’s over so quickly I didn’t get the chance to blog it first, more details here . Now I’m ready to continue tackling my shawl, I only wished it doesn’t take me so much time just to knit a row… Anyway, it’s pretty easy now so I hope I could knit faster until I reach my first time ever border.

Finished Hedera Socks

I seem to knit much better without the pressure of the Ravelympics so my WIP Wrestling was abandoned for these…

Well, I couldn’t leave the one black lace sock without a friend so I went ahead and finished the pair.  Not my favorite knitting project, but not the absolute worst either.
