Yes, I changed my mind and decided to finish the Goddess Knits Mystery Shawl No. 9. I have half a row to knit before I bind off, and I plan to block it out tonight. I just couldn’t face taking out all my work. I did cut about twenty-eight rows out of the pattern to make it work. I am using the yarn and needles called for, but there simply wasn’t enough. Anyway, I didn’t really like how abruptly the pattern ends, so I added a band of garter stitch, which is almost always a winner. Pictures in a day or so, when it’s dry. then I’m going to finish the edging on my sampler before I reward myself with Isis and another Mandala shawl. I had no idea that I loved knitting lace this much.
I also just went through and sent in my yardage updates. It’s surprising what one can do when motivated. Oh, and the television these past two weeks has been very good for knitting.

Started going through & entering my stash in Ravelry (don’t even ask…it’s scary, really scary…I think they’ll have to bury me with yarn & needles…) and I couldn’t resist starting this to see what the SWS would do with it.
I’ve also knit up another quickie on Size 13s with a very simple lace pattern, an oddly shaped item that when finished, turns into a shrug! Haven’t photo-ed that yet though. I so love the feel of Moda-Dea Dream (a friend who commented on it this past weekend called it “sensuous” and I have to agree!), I can almost forget the fact that it’s acrylic & nylon!
Here’s the budding vest:

Knit ON!

P.S. I MUST MUST MUST finish my vest.
I MUST MUST MUST finish my vest.
I MUST MUST MUST finish my vest. Only 20? days to go!!!

Hey y’all!
I managed to actually finish an object. I got totally captivated by “Juliet”, bought the yarn at Stitches Midwest, and just cast off this morning. Used 600 yds of Malabrigo Worsted. Here’s a picture (albeit a crappy one, it’s still blocking:

And how about that pooling ladies and gentlemen! You’ll be even more amused to note that that occurred while I was using two *different* colorways *and* alternating the balls every two rows. Tres Amusing, no?
I’m actually at 1041 yards knitted in finished objects. If I don’t finish anything else I’ll have to begin the tedious process of adding up all the yardage I knit into unfinished objects. Maybe I should knit another Juliet! Worsted yarn, done in a week….

I finished my scarf version of the Norwegian Woods Shawl pattern by Sivia Harding. It was knit in laceweight yarn from The Woolen Rabbit in the Iris colorway on size 4 needles. My shawl blocked out to 52″ x 26″.

Here’s a close-up of the pattern:

Well, so far I have only finished one lace project and that was a pair of socks:

However, I hope to finish my first ever project with actual lace weight yarn before September 23!
For a little inspiration, I decided to wash and block what I had already completed.
This:

Turned into this:

Oh, yeah! I can do it!

Here I go again. I started another project! It’s the Firmaments Lace Shawl, a pattern available on WEBS. I’m using Schaeffer Anne in Midnight. I knit a bunch, frogged a bunch, and now I’m back on track. I didn’t realize that I had to knit a row between each lace row in the first pattern. Duh!

I magic looped it until it was big enough. This one could take a while! It also has a knit on lace border, something I’ve never done. I’m thinking it’s about time.

I finished the first of the Lacy Mitts for I’m designing for my daughter.

I also have the pattern all written out for the left mitt, and have worked out just what needs to be done to reverse it for the right mitt. (I’ve also made great progress in a non-lace design and some simple socks for DH.
But that stops now. All this progress will come to a screeching halt.
Because this came in the mail today.
At last, Daedelus can be finished!! THANK YOU Aboca Beads .

This was a project originally started for Ravelympics, but it didn’t get finished in time. I knitted this project everywhere I went, trying to finish, but oh, well (18 days). Unfortunately, theres a bit of an odd stain on a couple of parts of this table topper. I tried an Oxyclean bath, but there’s still splotches on it. (does that count as a tragedy?)
This is knit w/ a little more than 2 balls of DMC Cordonnet thread #100 using US000 needles.

Btw–the pattern is Lyra, by Herbert Niebling– can be purchased from Lacis in Berkeley. It’ a fun knit. I highly recommend it. Total yardage? 991yds.

I´ve been lucky to get an opportunity to test knit a pattern and that´s what I´ve been doing. Here´s what turned out:

Used appr. 400 yds of zephyr 2/18, 3.5 mm needles and the finished measurements are 150 x 20 cm.
Edit: more pics and pattern url:
The pattern is called Cathedral by Julia Riede and it´s available on ravelry at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cathedral-2.

My daughter ran to tell my that Barbie had finally consented to marry the Prince. It had been a sore trial for the Prince as Barbie had even moved out of the country one time to escape his advances. As it was the wedding was happening today and she really wanted a knit wedding dress (please, please, please!). No, I do not have time to knit a Barbie dress, I have other things to do. When my six year old said she would watch the baby and do the laundry so I would have time to knit, I sighed my big sigh and went to the store to buy yarn. ( How can you have over 250,000 yds. of yarn and still not have the right kind?)
This is my interpretation of this pattern, knit with Bernat baby yarn (76 yds.). I made it longer and added pearls to dress it up a bit. I knit this in secret because I don’t want my daughter to know she can manipulate her mama, but she was very excited and surprised when she saw it. Of course now she thinks all Barbie’s sisters need a dress too.
