There is still time…I think

Well, so far I have only finished one lace project and that was a pair of socks:

However, I hope to finish my first ever project with actual lace weight yarn before September 23!

For a little inspiration, I decided to wash and block what I had already completed.

This:

Turned into this:

Oh, yeah!  I can . . . → Read More: There is still time…I think Read more »

Another finished object

I don’t know, I go 2 months without finishing anything and then finish 2 things in the space of a week! i have just finished my foxglove wrap, it was knitted using 2 100g skeins of Caber (wool/bamboo) from The Yarn Yard in a beautiful variagated pink in a the Fir Cone Wrap pattern (but when . . . → Read More: Another finished object Read more »

More socks

I just can’t get away from the socks!  Mom saw the one I’m doing for me… and asked for some, so I put mine aside to knit hers while she is visiting.  She is diabetic and a dialysis patient so I want to make sure they fit her well.

I’m using the Ridged Feather pattern from Sensational . . . → Read More: More socks Read more »

Ravelympics wrap all wrapped up.

I’ve just got back from a week in Pembrokeshire and finished my Ravelympics wrap on the Friday just before we came home, so I’ve just squeezed in under the deadline! Here’s a poor attempt at a finished arty photo draped over a cliff, the others were far worse! It’s currently filling all of the single bed . . . → Read More: Ravelympics wrap all wrapped up. Finally a Finished Object!

I finally finished blocking my Goddess Knits Anniversary Mystery Shawl Monday, and managed to get photos taken. It’s done. I used three full skeins of Malabrigo laceweight for a total of 1410 yards for this project. It’s a nice shawl, and I learned to add beads on it, so that was fun. They are clear . . . → Read More: Finally a Finished Object! Read more »

I have nothing to say, so look at the pretty pictures instead

Well, a week of being sick has surprisingly resulted in much knitting.  Mostly mindless.  Since I have nothing interesting to say, I give you pictures instead.  That would be my original pattern shawl, and yes, I know the lace is lost in the color.  I’m almost done with the second ball of Silky Malabrigo, with 2-3 . . . → Read More: I have nothing to say, so look at the pretty pictures instead Read more »

Ravelympics wrap

I’m making good progress on my Ravelympics wrap, though have actually had a yarn crisis this time. The pattern called for 2 balls of kidsilk haze which you knit held doubled and the directions were knit until you get to desired length or run out of yarn. Well I reckon I’m half way through, and the . . . → Read More: Ravelympics wrap Read more »

Ravelympics

I’ve just got back from a week at Guide camp where I was doing the climbing instruction all week. I of course took my knitting but had so much fun making new friends and meeting new people that I really didn’t get much done! I also managed to come back with even more yarn, though at . . . → Read More: Ravelympics Read more »

My first shawl (1388 yrds)

It is done (or rather it was done on Saturday, but I had to wait till I weighed it to know how much yarn I used).

That is 1388 yards of lace (according to the shipping scale at work and my l33t conversion skills).  I held the yarn double throughout, so mods, you may want to halve . . . → Read More: My first shawl (1388 yrds) Read more »
