bye bye summer

This has been interesting. To keep track of lace work for a summer. Well, I guess I was faster and more prolific in my brain than in actuality. But I did manage to polish off 7193yds of yarn/thread for 6 finished projects and 2 unfinished projects.

Erbstullgrund

Is the summer over?

I knit this with US1 needles and #10 cotton thread. A Niebling, of course. This took 275yds . . . → Read More: Erbstullgrund Read more »

Lyra

This was a project originally started for Ravelympics, but it didn’t get finished in time. I knitted this project everywhere I went, trying to finish, but oh, well (18 days). Unfortunately, theres a bit of an odd stain on a couple of parts of this table topper. I tried an Oxyclean bath, but there’s still splotches on . . . → Read More: Lyra Read more »

Ravelympics Hyrna

This is Hyrna Herborgar (3 cornered shawl).

Started August 8 2008
Completed August 13 2008
455 yds of cashmere
US4 KP Options needles
This was part of my Ravelympics projects. I started it while on vacation in SoCal — but didn’t bring it to Disneyland. Sort of wished I did since the lines would have gone by lots quicker, but with . . . → Read More: Ravelympics Hyrna Read more »

Niebling shawl finished

This is a pattern that has several names. Sellers on ebay calls it Phoenix Palme. The Lena mag the pattern came from calls it Rosa romantic (but it might be because they have the white tablecloth on pink cloth?). And others have dubbed it Mimosa for the mimosa tree since that’s what the leaves look like. . . . → Read More: Niebling shawl finished Read more »

Cast-on and progress of Rosa Romantic

I cast on for Rosa Romantic on July 13, it’s a Niebling pattern from Lena magazine.

This is the progress so far, I’ve knitted the first round of leaves and am working on the second.

The yarn is 100% cashmere from Colourmart, in teal. . . . → Read More: Cast-on and progress of Rosa Romantic Read more »

Swallowtail vacation

I started and finished this shawl in less than 3 days! It helps that your plane is delayed for a really long time. A note to self: make sure to always bring knitting when traveling. This is of course swallowtail. Went away for a weekend and surprisingly managed to finish this.

This took 1 ball of . . . → Read More: Swallowtail vacation Read more »

Peacock Feathers variant

Yay, finished Peacock Feathers from Fiddlesticks. Instead of the triangular shawl, I went with the stole version, using the original pattern as guide.

What a lovely fun knit.

This took me a little less than 4oz of zephyr, and a tad under 2 weeks to finish.  I knit this by provisional casting on 128 stitches, and then when . . . → Read More: Peacock Feathers variant Read more »

Onto the 2nd half

A quick update: I’m working on Peacock shawl as a stole and I’ve managed to finish half of it. I’m working on the 2nd half by unzipping (not to successfully) the provisional cast-on and am knitting section 1. I’m very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy . . . → Read More: Onto the 2nd half Read more »

Just a quick hello

I had to finish off another lace project, but now I’m ready to go. I’ll be working on Peacock Feathers as a stole in zephyr — jade. I’ll probably start a couple of other lace . . . → Read More: Just a quick hello Read more »
