Here are pics of my cardigan almost halfway. The yarn is Blue Heron Egyptian Mercerized Cotton, 2-ply laceweight, colorway Carnelian. I finally figured out how I can play with my photos, and have managed to give a sense of the real color of the yarn in the top, detail photo. The lower photo shows the effect . . . → Read More: Read more »

Here’s a shot of the yarn I won from A Piece of Vermont. It’s Sugar Hill 2-ply laceweight wool, 3.5 ounces, 660 yards, in the colorway Hearthside, which of course had to be photographed on the Vermont wood pile. It has a rich range of deep reds. It’s really lovely, and I’m so grateful! This shop . . . → Read More: A Piece of Vermont Read more »

I wondered about the date–Oh well, I’m not posting my final update again, even if I will have knit a couple hundred more yards by Tuesday. I had to post before I started a major project for work, since I was afraid I wouldn’t have time if I did it after the project. I’m so done–with . . . → Read More: Ah so it is the 23rd! Read more »

Here’s my last update post, with yardage, which obviously does not really matter as far as the competition goes, but I’m feeling pretty happy with how much I’ve accomplished. I am homeschooling the older two of my four young children and working on top of that, so the idea that any knitting at all got done . . . → Read More: What I have to show for my summer of lace Read more »

I finished the Summer Sampler Study from Bad Cat Designs yesterday, and it’s blocking today. I’ll get a photo of it draped on someone or something later for my final summary blog, but here are closer photos of the twelve patterns and the edging. This was a lot of fun to knit. I used this project . . . → Read More: Summer Sampler complete! Read more »

I’m finding myself moving into winter mode already–thinking more of weaving and knitting plain old mittens, socks, and hats for the children, and of processing all of that food out in the garden for the winter. But I still have three shawls on the needles–four if you count the summer sampler. I’m going to finish that . . . → Read More: winding down Read more »

I’ll be turning the third corner on my sampler stole tonight–only 65 repeats and two corners to go, and the repeats are actually going faster than I expected. I’m looking forward to having it done before the 2nd clue comes out for the MS4. I’m also looking forward to making progress on Isis. . . . → Read More: Update Read more »

I couldn’t resist this one, though I did try. Here is the Mystery Stole 4, from Pink Lemon Twist. I’m working on the second part now, and hope to be done both in time for clue 2. The yarn is Malabrigo laceweight in Sunset, which I absolutely adore. In fact, as I’m knitting I keep thinking . . . → Read More: Casting on again Read more »

Yes, I changed my mind and decided to finish the Goddess Knits Mystery Shawl No. 9. I have half a row to knit before I bind off, and I plan to block it out tonight. I just couldn’t face taking out all my work. I did cut about twenty-eight rows out of the pattern to make . . . → Read More: Half a row left. Read more »
