I was looking at my chart for the bluejeans leaf lace shawl last night, and thought, wow, that’s weird and shouldn’t I be purling more? On wrong side rows I’ve been doing k1through back loop, p2, k to 3 stitches before end, p2, sl1 wyif. And what does the pattern call for?

Wrist is better, though it’s still easier for me to use larger needles than smaller. Or that’s the justification I’m giving myself for casting on Luna Moth in DK weight last night (it’s a present for my mom, and I hope to finish it by Nov). This weekend ended up being the weekend of frustration as far as lace went, which might explain why I now have three lace projects in progress. There will be pictures (or scans) at some point soon, once I either convince the camera to work, or give up and see what a scanner can do with lace.

HI all. I’m a newbie knitter, and thought this would be a great challenge. I’m really excited about this. I think I’m going to do the Blue Jeans shawl with some laceweight alpaca I have. Wow, my first KAL.
Warm-up will be gauge-swatching, and learning how to do the ssk thing. . . . → Read More: Introduction and my probable project Read more »
