Started going through & entering my stash in Ravelry (don’t even ask…it’s scary, really scary…I think they’ll have to bury me with yarn & needles…) and I couldn’t resist starting this to see what the SWS would do with it.
I’ve also knit up another quickie on Size 13s with a very simple lace pattern, an oddly . . . → Read More: Startitis Strikes Again!!! Read more »

Here’s ONE, yes one, repeat of the lace pattern from the Harebell Fichu from Victorian Lace Today. I’ve altered it quite a bit to become more of a capelet than a collar. This first repeat was quite the challenge as I had to chart the lace pattern in Excel, and it was absolutely giving me fits. . . . → Read More: My newest distraction… Read more »

Knitting ADD (or Start-itis) strikes AGAIN!
I’ve been salivating over the lovely items in VLT and HAD to start something from it! It doesn’t help that I’m thinking about holiday gifts already…
So started swatching the lace pattern from the Harebell Fichu on several sizes of needles. It’s really a lovely pattern & fairly simple. Then decided to . . . → Read More: YIKES!!! Read more »

Well, after setting this aside due to large needle distractions, I finally (re) picked up the Rose Lace Vest last week. Finished the last repeat of 44 rows & started the 8-row border last night. Finished that this morning (it’s thunderstorming here, so outside work is called for rain…) and started the picot bind-off of the . . . → Read More: Ah…the curse of perfectionism… Read more »

More than 500 stitches per round now, soooo slooooow, and it doesn’t help that I’ve decided to get creative and not completely follow the given pattern, so each pattern row I sit and stare and think & look through books and and and…
But I HAD to check out the diameter, so put it on 5 circulars . . . → Read More: EEEE-GADS! Read more »

The Peacock Mananita is going along well, but gosh the rounds are getting long! I really wonder how anyone ever finishes a pi shawl or any other of the ginormous round shawls with thousands of stitches at the outer edge!!! I’m up to the fourth round of holes now. It’s taking surprisingly LESS yarn than I . . . → Read More: Plodding along, I am… Read more »

Let’s see if this works…
Well, there’s only a little picture icon, but maybe it’ll translate in the final post…here’s hoping!
I’ve decided NOT to make all the increases specified in the chart as I’m thinking that it’d probably turn out just too voluminous with this yarn…though I do so LOVE working with it!

or start-itis strikes again…
I’ve gone ahead & done it…My 3 wheels of Icelandic unspun have been calling to me since I bought it while at Meg Swansen’s EPS workshop in May. I just really needed to be doing something that would move along a bit faster than size 4 needles. So I started Meg’s mananita variation . . . → Read More: Familiarity breeds contempt… Read more »
