That is absolutely gorgeous! How are you liking the flower formation?

I’m really glad you like how it’s turning out. Working with this thin silk is not always easy so it’s nice to hear it is worth the effort : -) I was a little confused about how those flowers would be formed but I like the effect. It gives the flowers a little dimension which is something that I’ve found with the Niebling patterns. The stitches “raise” up some areas in a way that reminds me of cable knitting.

Oooh! Shiny! That is going to be gorgeous. I’ll bet you have to hang onto that yarn for dear life!

I really like how shiny it is too :-) I do have to secure the silk with several turns around my pinkie and the stitches are formed using a little pressure at the tips of the needles with my fingertips so I can prevent any accidental slipping. I’m not a speedy knitter anyway so I’m pretty sure a stitch is secure before I move on to the next one so I don’t really have to have a “death grip” on it :-)

Your work is lovely and the pattern is fantastic, esp. in the yarn that you chose. THe final piece is going to be something to cherish.

Thank you very much! I’ve had this yarn for awhile waiting for my skills to improve so I could knit something really pretty with it. I still make my share of mistakes and nothing I knit is ever perfect LOL. I really enjoy the lace knitting and I’m saving some of them now so maybe someone in the family will enjoy them in the future.

This is 100% beautiful. I am getting married in a year and a half and my grandma is an amazing knitter (70 years of knitting will do that I guess)- I recently asked her to knit me a veil and have been trying to find a pattern I liked. I was thinking a circular shawl style would be something I could use again (tablecover, shawl etc). I LOVE this. I was wondering how big it is size wise now and how you find Burda Magazine. I googled it and searched the patterns on the site but couldn’t find anything. It is gorgeous :) My email is darlyngirl(at)cogeco.ca if you had any info abour size or finding the pattern- I’ll also check back here. Thanks

Thanks! I’m still working on it but received my long awaited book on Estonian Lace so I’m working on some of those patterns for awhile. I don’t have much in the way of patience and that’s why I usually rotate 6-7 projects. It takes me a long time to finish anything but at least I don’t get bored :-)
