On the bright side, at least I’m a process knitter

Or “Gauge swatch? We don’t need no stinkin’ gauge swatch!”. A story in two acts.

Act one:

A lace ribbon scarf from Knitty, in Posh Yarn Emily in Primrose. This is actually the third project I’ve started with this yarn; it looks great as lace, but the skein only has 365 yards and the yarn is . . . → Read More: On the bright side, at least I’m a process knitter Read more »

Norwegian Woods Shawl

This shawl was begun several months ago, but put aside for other projects. Seeing as I am in the mode of finishing works in progress, as a result of the Ravelympics, this is my next one to complete. I am using a laceweight yarn from The Woolen Rabbit in the Iris colorway. I love knitting with . . . → Read More: Norwegian Woods Shawl Read more »

Last cast-on (for awhile)

I cast on for the Wabenschal using Knit Picks shimmer (alpaca/silk) in Lilac Dream. This is a Christmas present so I wanted to get it started. I’m hoping this will be my last cast-on until I get everything I have started, finished. That is except Mystery Stole 4, of course. Hopefully nothing else will catch my . . . → Read More: Last cast-on (for awhile) Read more »

My Monkey Socks are finished

My knitting needles were smoking hot this weekend! Here are my new Monkey Socks, made with Copper Pot from Spindle City Yarns. I am very pleased with the way they turned out. They . . . → Read More: My Monkey Socks are finished Read more »

Olympic Gold

Who knew that someone so out of shape could win a gold medal.  In 16 days (I even finished a day ahead) I knit the Flirty Ruffles Shawl .  It’s the first time I’ve ever knit with 100% cashmere.  I’m hooked!

I literally bound off, stood up and had Honey take a picture.  There were needles lying . . . → Read More: Olympic Gold Read more »

Ravelympics wrap all wrapped up.

I’ve just got back from a week in Pembrokeshire and finished my Ravelympics wrap on the Friday just before we came home, so I’ve just squeezed in under the deadline! Here’s a poor attempt at a finished arty photo draped over a cliff, the others were far worse! It’s currently filling all of the single bed . . . → Read More: Ravelympics wrap all wrapped up. A little lace

This is what I’m up to now… These are the Lacy Mock Cable socks.  I started these back in the summer of 2007.   The yarn (Fleece Artist Merino) was given to me by a knitting friend and she was going to China to pick up her adorable adopted baby girl… So, I thought I’d knit some . . . → Read More: A little lace Read more »

Flower Basket Shawl

I finished my Flower Basket Shawl by Evelyn Clark. Of her patterns that I’ve knit, this is by far my favorite. The pattern flowed very easily and I would have added more repeats if I didn’t run out of yarn. This is some Knit Picks Bare Merino fingering that I dyed a while ago. It is . . . → Read More: Flower Basket Shawl Read more »

Now available with beads!

I jumped on the beaded swallowtail wagon, and came up with this:

One shocking pink shawl, in Posh Sophia 2-ply (yum, cashmere!), with lots of beads that you cannot see at all in this photo.  I added a couple of extra repeats of the last two rows of the peaked edging chart, to add a little to . . . → Read More: Now available with beads! Read more »
