Catching up and Casting on
As usual, the photos will have to wait a day or two, but I am almost caught up with the BadCatDesigns summer sampler study, working on the edging now. I also cast on nother mandala shawl from Goddess Knits. My aunt saw the one I made for my brother’s fiancee and asked if I would make one for her. She agreed to purchase the yarn for two, so I can have some more fun later, and I am making the shawl as a gift. It’s nice to finally be able to do something for her, since she really doesn’t need much that I could offer. I’m fortunate to have a large family–there will always be someone to knit a shawl for. Also, I’m going to finish this post and go cast on for the Veil of Isis. I’m using the red cashmere that was going to be a mandala shawl, but which was not going the way I would have liked. I picked up some size 0 needles, and am going to make a go of this one. Knit on!

You really are very very busy! And much in demand as a lace knitter
I love Badcatdesigns too and have several patterns I want to get to. I look forward to seeing how you get on with your multiple projects.
Before this knitalong I never really considered that I like some designers’ work more than others, but now that is crystal clear to me. There is also personal style, which has also made quite an impression on me this summer. I’ll be interested to see how quickly I can finish the four lace projects I’ve got going now. I expect I could finish two of them, maybe three by the end of September, but that’s only if I really ignore what I should be doing–be that working or sleeping. In any case, I won’t be starting a new one until at least two of these are finished.
By the way, I’ve had a lot of fun reading your blog and enjoying photos of your work. I’ve even been inspired to take out my wheel and learn to spin again (although any real production spinnning will have to wait a month or two). Thanks!
