Testing a new lace book – a small lace project

When looking at patterns on ravelry, I fell in love with one of the patterns by Herbert Neilbling and wanted to get it. According to their links it was available in three different books – all in foreign languages and two of which I couldn’t find. The remaining book, Knitting Lace Designs of the “Modern: Mode, Bk. 2, by Naoko Ichida was the only one I could find (I bought it from Lacis) which is in Japanese. It did come with a translation of the different stitches but I needed a test to see if I could indeed handle the bigger pattern by trying a smaller, simpler one first.  This was the result.

A small lace doilie (sp?)

The answer to my question is yes so now I will have to try the big one and be a little more careful with the pattern itself.  Oh yes, I started and finished this while watching the olympics yesterday.
