I’ve just got back from a week at Guide camp where I was doing the climbing instruction all week. I of course took my knitting but had so much fun making new friends and meeting new people that I really didn’t get much done! I also managed to come back with even more yarn, though at least it was free, they were knitting a blanket at the camp and had asked for donated yarn, cotton and mohair isn’t known for making good charity blankets so they were giving un-wanted bits away.
Despite not finishing my existing projects I have of course cats on something new for the Ravelympics, I’m doing 2 lace shawls, 1 for each of my house mates as a Christmas present. It’s a simple feather and fan pattern that came free in a UK knitting magazine my Mum bought and looks to be knitting up really quickly, though it needs lots of concentration as you use 2 stands of Kidsilk Haze, on 12mm needles….
At the moment it is not a thing of beauty but after a good blocking it should be lovely. The link to my Ravelry project is <http://www.ravelry.com/projects/hilltopkatie/raspberry-wrap>here</a>.
