Flower Basket Shawl Idea

I saw the most interesting Flower Basket Shawl today while exploring some downtown yarn shops.  It was knit with a combination of Trekking and Filatura di Crosa Superior (a lace weight cashmere/silk blend that has the appearance of mohair) making it a thick(er) snuggly garment.  It was so soft!  I would’ve never guessed that some basic Trekking was the foundation.   The gal at the LYS said she used about 1.5 balls of Trekking and 2 balls of the Superior.  She had used a self-striping Trekking which gave it some lovely color varariations and texture but wasn’t at all obvious.  I could see it working well with a wide variety of sock yarns… but the Superior was the key… it’s just luxury in a ball!
