I finally cast on for the Bird’s Nest Stole from the book Folk Shawls. This is the first lace project I bought yarn for, but I could never bring myself to cast on for it. I think it is the sheer size of the thing that always put me off- 166 rows of 346 stiches. It will never get bigger, but it won’t get smaller either. :) I figure if I cast on now and do a few rows a day I may get finished this summer. Let me tell you they are loooong rows and I haven’t even got to the lace yet.

I started that one a while back. I love the pattern. But alas I didn’t have the heart for it, and gave it up. I might be able to do it now that I have figured out the chart reading, which is just so much easier.
