I Love Sock Yarn!

No Gravatar

I started another lace project.  What an addiction!  I got some Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn in the mail, and it was talking to me.  I wanted a big rectangular shawl that I could wear with black and with denim.  This is what I came up with.

The pattern is from Sigridur Halldorsdottir’s book, written in Icelandic.  Fortunately, someone translated it, although there are charts.  I added one repeat, so it will be about 24 inches wide.  I have three skeins, but I may need four.  We’ll see.

I memorized the pattern in two repeats, and there are no beads!  This is my baseball game, travel, easy project.

If you love Silk Garden yarn, you’ll love the sock weight.  I’m also knitting a sock and that’s not as much fun, as it doesn’t have any stretch.

Wow that’s beautiful. I’ve not knit with Noro yet, after seeing this I might have to try something…

I felt up the Sock Garden yarn at the LYS today, and it is indeed much softer than the original sock yarn. Your colorway is lovely! That will go perfect with black outfits.
