Testing and blocking out errors

This is a picture (hopefully) of my Icarus shawl progress.
One problem I’ve had with Icarus is that periodically I screw something up and I then ladder down the stitches and  reknit them back up but this has led to several areas where the mistakes when they are fixed look like this:
See the place where the stitches are kind of loosey-goosey? I’m really hoping that these will block out smooth but I worry. Has anyone had experience with this before? This may be complicated by the fact that I’m using a silk and cashmere yarn and I know that doesn’t block the same as a wool yarn would. Suggestions? Reassurances?

I’m afraid I can’t be of any help as far as fixing errors goes…I always have to either rip back to the oops or wait for my daughter to have time to help me fix it. I just wanted to say how beautiful your shawl is! I really like how the subtle varigations in the color add so much depth to the look of the shawl and bring out the pattern.
You could try carefully moving some of the excess yarn across its row before you block, so that it’s distributed over more of the stitches.

To fix your loose spots the way i’ve used is to take a crochet hook and tighten up the stitches , then redistribute the extra yarn across the row. So pull the stitch next to the mistake, then the one after that, and so on, leaving a little extra yarn in each stitch. You are bound by your next set of yarn overs, and will limit how far you can take the extra yarn. I hope this makes sense!
