First of all, let’s test this picture thing:

SwallowtailThis is an old picture of Swallowtail (that isn’t much farther along now than in this picture) but I didn’t want to go to the trouble of doing new pictures if they aren’t going to show up in the post.

I’ve been pretty diligently working on Icarus. So much so that I’m starting to hate it a little :) The problem is I pretty much knit in front of the tv. So one has to strike a balance between mindless and interesting for tv knitting. One problem with Icarus is that it’s easy (and boring) but also that I’m knitting it on smallish needles (3’s) and so it’s a little harder to knit while not looking which I can usually pull off.

I guess I’m just getting a case of the summer knitting blahs. Plus in looking at all the posts, there’s no way I’m winning for yardage. :) I am just not the fastest production knitter in the world. :)

Anyone else have knitting enuii?

Elizabeth

PS: ok, in the preview of this post I can’t see my picture. I put in the url to the Flickr page where this pic supposedly lives under the “add media” option. Isn’t that supposed to make it show up in the post? I’ve seen some of you putting pictures in your posts. *How* are you doing it now that we can’t upload? Help?!

I wonder if the process is different depending on whether you are using Firefox or Safari. You might try it in a different browser if you have not already done so. I’m finding that Firefox works better and faster than Safari for photos. It usually takes me a couple of tries, but using the add media button last time I was able to see the photos in the post as I wrote it. I think I added the URL address that time, but in the past I have used the http address and that worked too. So now I just try both until it works. In the past I have also used the little “img” button to add a photo, and that worked too, in Safari, but doesn’t seem to work in Firefox.

    good luck!

I don’t know how other people are adding their pics, but this is what I do: On the Flickr page, instead of copying the url, I copy the HTML (choice 1). Next, on the blog page, instead of using the “add media” option, I click on the HTML tab (to the right of the “add media” option. (Don’t worry, this is all cut and paste, no HTML knowledge required!) I then simply paste the HTML I copied from Flickr in this tab. I select the “visual” tab to go back to a format I understand, where the picture *magically* appears, and add my text.

As far as I can tell, this is within the rules of both Flickr (linking back to the Flickr site) and the Seasons of Lace blog (not uploading pics here). So far, it’s worked for me every time!

What I do is I right click on the actual picture in Flickr. I go down to where it says “properties” click on that. Then I copy and paste the URL address that comes up in that box. (about half way down the list) I hope this helps.
