I needed gifts for coworkers who were moving to a different office location — and who were well aware of my knitting obsession! Inspired by seeing the Flourish bookmark on Ravelry, and using sample skeins of Twisted Fiber Art hand-dyed yarn, I made two little lacy bookmarks, using lace motifs from Barbara Walker’s Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns.
Unfortunately, I still cannot get pictures to post, even though I can do it using the same method on my own WordPress blog. The ‘add media’ screen seems to freeze. So, until I can solve this, follow the links to see pictures (sorry, it’s just not the same!)
The first bookmark uses the Spider Stitch, knit from Playful yarn base (high twist superwash merino) in the Ankh colorway, with beads.
The second bookmark is the Roman Stripe reversible lace pattern, knit from Kabam! (bamboo/merino/nylon) yarn in the Sherwood colorway.
Also, I knit a blanket square out of some hand-dyed superwash elann.com merino, for someone whose mother just died; a number of people are knitting squares to make a comfort blanket. The motif is (again) from Barbara Walker’s Second Treasury, Candlelight, slightly modified.
Working away on bigger lace, too, more on that another day!
Cathy
All VERY nice!

P.S. I love bookmarks too…
