Off and Running!

I cast on this weekend and I must say that I am really enjoying this project. I am knitting Seascape from Knitty. I finished the border and I am about to start the body of the shawl. I am a bit nervous, because disaster typically strikes when I try knitting with laceweight and fingerweight yarn, but I am going to try. The yarn I am using is KnitPicks Shimmer in Turquoise Splendor. It is 70% baby alpaca and 30% silk. It is a dream to knit with so far. Only time will tell if it is easy to rip back, knowing my knitting track record. This will be my first true lace project (if I finish that is). You might notice a white string in the picture, I already have a lifeline in place and I am planning on doing one every 10 rows or so to protect myself. Good luck to everyone!
