I sorted and catalogued all of my laceweight yarn today. I now have an excel spreadsheet listing my yarn, colorway and yardage. That way, when I see something I just have to knit, I can go to my trusty spreadsheet and see what I have that has the right amount of yardage.
I have a bunch of yarn that’s not laceweight. It’s fingering weight or in a couple of cases, it’s even DK weight, but it was purchased with lace in mind. Having said that, I added up the yardage of all yarn intended for lace.
I have 35.315 miles of yarn to knit into lace.

Yikes! I thought I had a lot of yarn, but I only have 17.17 miles. Of course that is strictly lace weight. Not going to say anything about the others…when I entered it all on Ravelry it printed out to eight pages, twenty-nine to a page.
