Warm-up Nupping

I’m working on my warm-up knitting–I thought I’d be further along, but the heat wave the Northeast experienced last week? totally killed my desire to touch anything wooly. I haven’t figured out how to add photos here yet, so I’ve posted pictures to the Flickr group, as well as on my own blog.

I’m knitting Madli’s Shawl, from the Summer 2004 IK, and it’s full of nupps. Which look lovely, and are coming along with a surprising ease that I’ve probably just jinxed by saying so. :) The yarn is a baby camel lace-weight, from School Products in NYC–sort of rustic and creamy and lovely.

  • I think I’m doing Madli’s too, but decided after swatching to forget the nupps, just didn’t like the feel of them. But I am going to use a fingering weight (because that’s what I have) might feel differently if I had lace weight to do it in. Also want to do Scotch Thistle, and Baltic Sea if I can find the right lace weight for them in my stash, and Ene’s Scarf, and I still haven’t found the right pattern for my Tess’ Silk and Ivory yarn (only one skein of that).
Decisions, decisions. I’m determined to start Friday night or Saturday…
