Posting images - hopefully a helpful tutorial

We’ve been having some problems with the Add Media Button in the post editor. Between web browsers that can’t get it to work properly, folks who have been uploading pictures for storage, and authors who don’t know what do to with all the options. So I would like to encourage everyone to use the “Insert/Edit image” button that is part of the main posting tool bar. The icon looks like this –> image gif icon.  It should allow you to do all the same things the Add Media button did, but with a much simpler and more browser compatible interface.

Below are step by step instructions for how to post an image using this button: (I’ve put in a bunch of images so the specifics are below the Continue Reading link)

Lace Ribbon Scarf

No Gravatar

I cast on for this scarf, using a skein of Blue Moon Fiber Arts yarns - Socks That Rock Mediumweight. I originally bought it to make a pair of socks, however I decided to overdye the whole skein using Lanaset Blue 483 from PRO Chemical & Dye. I now love the color, as well as this popular scarf pattern.

Casting on pair #4

No Gravatar

This afternoon I cast on a pair of black lace socks using Knitpicks Essential yarn in Black Tweed.  Not overly fond of the yarn at this point. It has been in my stash since last summer and I decided it was time to dig it out and knit it up.

I finished my Juno regina stole last night and here you see how she turned up. Too bad my chili peppers are still green, otherwise would they have been a great photo set-up ;) The stole is 190 cm long and it used 1148 yards of yarn, slightly less than one skein of lace weight cash/silk and 35 grams of cobweb weight solid red. It has such a beautiful sheen. I think of it more as a scaf, as it is only 38 cm wide, but I hope my sister will like it anyway. Next I´m pending between Spring forwards or a dk weight scarf, have to go swatching to decide….

Swallowtail scarf

I cannot bear to call this a shawl even though it blocked out to the stated size. I added a more subtle bead because I wasn’t sure how the recipient would feel about them. They probably go better with the airiness and small size of this shawl.

I Love Sock Yarn!

No Gravatar

I started another lace project.  What an addiction!  I got some Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn in the mail, and it was talking to me.  I wanted a big rectangular shawl that I could wear with black and with denim.  This is what I came up with.

The pattern is from Sigridur Halldorsdottir’s book, written in Icelandic.  Fortunately, someone translated it, although there are charts.  I added one repeat, so it will be about 24 inches wide.  I have three skeins, but I may need four.  We’ll see.

I memorized the pattern in two repeats, and there are no beads!  This is my baseball game, travel, easy project.

If you love Silk Garden yarn, you’ll love the sock weight.  I’m also knitting a sock and that’s not as much fun, as it doesn’t have any stretch.
